It's the ultimate adventure: surviving in the wild with only your new-found skills to keep you out of trouble. You'll learn a new awareness of the great outdoors on our 2-day course, set in some of the UK's most beautiful landscapes. Under the watchful eye of a forces trained instructor, you'll set snares for food, send up a distress signal, carry out basic first aid and much, much more.
You will spend two days being taught all aspects of survival and safety techniques and sleeping in tents and shelters. By the end of the course you will have covered subjects such as navigation and safety, edible plants, improvised weapons, fishing techniques, water purification, distress signals, fire lighting by friction, shelter and food preparation. This is a fantastic experience for all outdoors enthusiasts. Programmes vary depending on the location chosen.
The course lasts all weekend, including two nights out in the wild. There will be a maximum of 11 others in your group. Sorry, you can't bring along your family and friends to watch you do this activity.
You should be fit enough to carry your own rucksack over varied terrain for about 15 miles over the two days. You should have a positive attitude and an open mind.
You must be at least 18 years old to participate in this activity. Selected weekends, March to November
